Black History Month Opening Reception
WASHINGTON, DC – Arlo’s Living Room Gallery series is partnering with DTR Modern Galleries to celebrate Black History Month with paintings on display by Halim Flowers and Clarence James. Join us Wednesday, February 5th from 6pm to 8pm for the opening reception, located at the rooftop bar and lounge on the top floor of the new Arlo Washington D.C. hotel.
During the evening, there will be an engaging discussion panel lead by Avalon Ashley Bellos, Executive Director of Media Communications at DTR Modern, that will dive into the intersection of art, advocacy, and the evolving narrative of Black artists in contemporary art.
Founded by Jasmine Arakel, the Arlo Living Room Gallery series brings contemporary art into publicly accessible spaces. D.C.’s own Arlo Hotel is the perfect place to observe the latest art installations, meet fellow art-lovers and cultural enthusiasts while enjoying stunning views of Capitol Hill. This collaboration with DTR Modern Galleries spotlights impactful works celebrating Black artistry during Black History Month.
The event is open to the public and works by Halim Flowers and Clarence James are available for purchase and their full inventory will be linked below.
