Art, Identity and AI: An Evening Celebrating Black History Month

As seen in The Villager, released February 13, 2025

On the evening of February 5th, the nation’s capital witnessed a memorable gathering of art, intellect and activism at the new Arlo Hotel’s rooftop lounge in DC. Hosted by DTR Modern Galleries, this reception celebrated Black History Month with artworks on display by two of DTR’s contemporary artists, Clarence James and Halim Flowers, lit by vibrational dialogue with the artists, attendees, and the hotel and gallery’s own coordinators. The discussions were unflitered, urgent - offering an intellectual conversation regarding the power and purpose of art in the reflection of our current world and catalyst for change.

The event was highlighted in several press articles: The Villager, and Recommend, both highlighting the importance of these events as spaces for transformative dialogue and artistic freedom. The artists’ works will be on display through the month for viewing and purchase.
