The Language of Love with Mel Bochner

As seen in The Villager on November 9th, 2023. Article by Avalon Bellos

Mel Bochner’s work is described as “nothing short of a visual symphony for the soul” (Bellos, p. 25). His work ignites a fire of passion among the art community and collectors, inspiring painters and interior designers alike.

Bochner entered the art scene in the 60’s after studying at Carnegie Mellon University and later moving to New York City, immersing himself in the avant-garde city life. His career began with an early fascination with language and the power of words. By the 70s, he emerged as a trendsetter in the conceptual art community, challenging norms and emphasizing on the power of text.

Mel Bochner has transformed as a trailblazing artist over the years of his career, and now has become one of the most sought-after and successful contemporary artists of our time. We have a few rare pieces of Mel Bochner’s in our collection, commonly displayed at our New York and Boston galleries.
