DTR Modern Galleries SoHo hosts first New York solo show for avant-garde artist R.T. Houben

New York, NY – July 11, 2024 – DTR Modern Galleries is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated first New York solo show of celebrated avant-garde painter and draftsman, R.T. Houben. The exhibition will take place on July 11th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Houben in attendance in our stunning second-floor gallery in Soho. R.T. Houben is known for his unique and unmistakable voice in the art world. Born in Bulgaria, Houben graduated with a degree in painting from the Conservative Art Academy in Sofia, where he became an integral part of the Radical art movement around the XXL gallery. Although his installations and videos garnered considerable critical acclaim in Europe, Houben chose to abandon these techniques due to their “predictability,” focusing instead on developing his distinctive painting and drafting style.

This solo exhibition marks a significant milestone in Houben’s career, showcasing his evolution and mastery as an artist. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the depth and complexity of his work, which continues to push the boundaries of contemporary art.
