Dan’s Papers: Ted Vassilev Talks Hunt Slonem

On the cover of the November 18,  2022 issue of Dan’s Papers and the December 2022 issue is “Totem Fly” featured above, by renowned artist Hunt Slonem. This work, and many alike it, can be found in one of our five locations on the East Coast – New York City, Palm Beach, Nantucket, Boston and Washington D.C.

Owner of DTR Modern Galleries, Ted Vassilev, is featured in an interview discussing our partnership with the iconic Hunt Slonem, his great success as an acclaimed contemporary artist, and his process in creating his vibrant butterflies, birds and bunnies.

About 25 years ago, Ted’s relationship with Hunt began, built off of an infatuation with the exotic and lush looks of Hunt’s artwork, studio and living spaces. This has grown into a long-lasting friendship and Hunt Slonem remains DTR Modern Galleries’ top selling artist. Over time, we have introduced Hunt to major collectors and collections, driving his appearance in museum exhibitions worldwide, VIP events, art fairs, and more. Our most recent exhibition with Hunt was at Art Miami, showcasing his art exclusively at our booth, following a VIP opening reception at our gallery location in Boston.

We are looking forward to the evolution and expansion of Hunt’s career, “which is to say, limitless” (Ted Vassilev).
